Mercury In Retrograde

Featuring:

- Painful job switch. Arm twisting, guilt. Misery in the process, but not in the decision. Gotta go with instinct on this one.

- Anna Nicole Smith died. Now let’s all get over it already. I’m ready to administer the paternity test myself if it means I can stop hearing about it.

- 15 feet of ice ruining the main drain pipe leaving my kitchen a construction zone for three weeks. Guy working on it is the neighbor with the phone piece growing in his ear. Between my landlord’s thick Polish accent and the neighbor’s thick Iranian they both admittedly understand only 50% of what they are saying to each other at any given time and I understand maybe 95%. When I’ve been home, I have to translate for each immediately after the other speaks. It’s probably pretty funny to watch. Almost enough to make me forget about the scare from the other workman/contortionist found under one of my kitchen cabinets. Didn’t know anyone was even in the kitchen ‘til I saw the shoe sticking out. He was bigger than a mouse, yet small enough to practically camp out in there. Now the ice is melted, and drain okay, but the cabinets and outer wall still somewhat disassembled. Ah, construction people...help a sista out and give her the kitchen back. I keep swearing to God I'll actually start using it this time, if he just gets them to put it back together.

- Lesson learned, note to self: avoid hanging out with acquaintances who might be so inclined to grope you on the sly while they’re intoxicated. Had the bar been playing Bon Jovi’s Never Say Goodbye, I might have been transported to a middle school slow dance from my past. Hello, Awkward.

- I’ve started painting again. Just got out a canvas I had in storage and started throwin’ down paint and gel and other media. It’s not totally finished yet, but at least I know where I’m going with it.

- Avoiding Jim, creepy married guy, apparently the loneliest man I know, too many phone calls and emails. Hope the recent bye, bye nice girl = bye, bye Jim
